Continental Mathematics League
About
The Continental Mathematics League (CML) Grade 7 Euclidean division is a national competition designed to foster mathematical problem-solving skills in middle school students. Unlike the more advanced Pythagorean division, the Euclidean division is specifically tailored for students with average to above-average math abilities, making competitive mathematics more accessible to a broader range of learners. The program consists of five separate meets held throughout the school year, each featuring six complex problems that must be solved within a 30-minute time limit. Its primary mission is to help students gain confidence in their mathematical reasoning and analytical thinking through consistent practice and national benchmarking. By participating, schools can challenge their students with non-traditional problems that go beyond the standard curriculum. Top-performing students and schools are recognized with national rankings, medals, and certificates, providing tangible rewards for academic excellence.
