Continental Mathematics League
About
The CML Grade 8 Euclidean division is a national mathematics competition designed to improve students' reading comprehension and problem-solving skills through a series of timed tests. The Euclidean division serves as the standard level of competition, focusing on fundamental and advanced 8th-grade mathematical concepts that are accessible yet challenging for the general student population. Over the course of the academic year, students participate in five monthly meets, each consisting of six questions that must be solved within a 30-minute window. This format encourages consistent practice and allows students to track their progress relative to peers nationwide. The program's mission is to foster a sense of achievement and a love for mathematics by providing a structured environment for competitive growth. Unique value lies in its integration into the school day, allowing a wide range of students to participate in a national-level contest without traveling.
