International Psychology Olympiad (IPsyO)
About
The International Psychology Olympiad (IPsyO) is an annual global competition dedicated to identifying, inspiring, and supporting students with a talent for psychological science. Its mission is to develop psychological knowledge for the betterment of humanity while building an international community of future leaders and researchers. The competition is structured into two main phases: a Qualification Round consisting of a comprehensive 150-minute individual test, and a Final Round featuring an objective exam based on specific reading materials alongside a team-based research proposal. Students are challenged to apply psychological research to real-world problems, fostering curiosity and critical thinking beyond standard classroom curriculum. By participating, students gain access to the interactive IPsyE learning environment and join a network of over 4,000 peers from 80 different countries. The program serves as a unique platform for high schoolers to gain international recognition in a field—psychology—that is frequently underrepresented in traditional secondary school STEM competitions.
