About
New York Bioforce is a comprehensive STEAM pipeline program designed to equip students from low-resource backgrounds with the skills necessary to succeed in high-tech industries. The program’s mission is to bridge the gap in science education by providing underserved NYC students with elite training and professional networking opportunities. Students spend the spring semester learning molecular biology, data science, and biomedical engineering techniques at Columbia University's campuses. During the summer, they are placed in six-week paid internships at prestigious institutions such as Weill Cornell Medicine or Columbia Engineering. The experience culminates in a public research poster session at the American Museum of Natural History, where students present their findings to the scientific community.
