Our Mission

Our goal is to make the college application process more accessible and transparent for all students.

From Frustration to Innovation

The college application process is a defining moment, yet it's often filled with stress, confusion, and self-doubt. Cliché advice and generic essay prompts can make it feel impossible to stand out.

Moreover, the prohibitively high cost of professional college counseling excludes a vast majority of the student population from receiving high quality and actionable insight into the college application process. Students with excellent backgrounds and impressive achievements risk fumbling their potential simply by not having access to the highly gate-kept secrets of college admissions.

Uni was born from a simple idea: what if every student had a co-pilot on this journey? What if college counseling could be redefined to help every student unearth the powerful, authentic narratives hidden within their personal experiences, rather than just polishing prose?

As our vision evolved and we put greater focus on helping students stand out, we built Uni to be that co-pilot. It's an intelligent platform that goes beyond grammar checks, brainstorming sessions, and highly unrefined GPT wrappers masked as "AI essay coaches." It's a tool designed to help you connect the dots of your life, transform raw ideas into compelling stories, discover universities where you'll truly thrive, and find your unique "spike," that standout strength or passion that helps you stand out in a sea of applicants.

Nicholas Chung

Founder & Developer

Having assisted over 100 students to their academic goals throughout my 10 years of college counseling, I knew that the college application burden was unnecessarily high. Built with passion, Uni was created as our vision expanded and we put greater focus on helping students stand out. This solo project was driven by my students' personal frustrations with the convoluted college application process, coupled with my belief that no student should pay thousands of dollars for application guidance.
