About
The Stanford AIMI Summer Research Internship is a two-week virtual program designed to inspire high school students to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare. Its mission is to empower the next generation of innovators through a combination of technical lectures, mentored research, and exposure to real-world clinical challenges. Students work in small teams paired with Stanford mentors to tackle focused health AI projects, learning how to frame research questions and analyze medical data. Core activities include a "Meet-the-Expert" speaker series featuring leaders from industry and government, as well as hands-on technical sessions covering machine learning fundamentals. By participating, students gain high-impact experience in a rapidly evolving field while developing essential problem-solving and teamwork skills. The program concludes with a certificate of completion for those who demonstrate active engagement and consistent attendance throughout the sessions.
