ARISE

About

The ARISE program is a free, 10-week summer initiative designed to provide motivated New York City high school students with authentic research experience and foundational STEM skills. Its mission is to democratize access to high-level research by removing financial barriers through a stipend and a cost-free participation model. During the first four weeks, students engage in remote workshops focusing on lab safety, college-level writing, and research methodology. This is followed by six weeks of in-person work in one of over 80 NYU research labs, where students contribute to real-world projects in fields like robotics, cybersecurity, and bioengineering. The program culminates in a public colloquium and a poster symposium held at the American Museum of Natural History, allowing students to showcase their findings to the broader scientific community.
