Clinical Summer Internship (Med CSI)
About
The Stanford Medicine Clinical Summer Internship (Med CSI) is an intensive educational program designed to bridge the gap between academic interest and the actual practice of medicine. Its mission is to bring together motivated learners from diverse backgrounds to explore the "art, science, and joy" of world-class medical care through a fast-paced, immersive curriculum. Core activities include hands-on training such as heart dissections, learning to administer injections, and practicing clinical vitals under the mentorship of Stanford medical students, residents, and faculty. The program provides unique value by allowing students to "scrub in" and experience the clinical environment of a top-tier medical school firsthand. Whether on-campus or virtual, the curriculum focuses on active participation and the development of meaningful professional connections within the medical field. Ultimately, the program serves as a transformative introduction to medical school life for rising juniors, seniors, and pre-med undergraduates.
