Cubes in Space
About
Cubes in Space is a global STEM program designed for students aged 11 to 18 that provides a unique opportunity to design and fly experiments into space. The mission of the program is to provide students with authentic access to space to conduct scientific research and test new technologies. Participating students learn a specialized curriculum that challenges them to design an experiment that can fit within a small 40mm cube. These experiments are then proposed through a formal application process to be launched on NASA sounding rockets or high-altitude scientific balloons. The program’s unique value lies in its official partnership with NASA, which allows students to interact with real spaceflight hardware and telemetry. By the end of the program, students whose designs are selected receive their experiments back to conduct post-flight analysis and compare their results with their pre-flight hypotheses.
