Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP)
UT Southwestern
About
The Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP) is a long-standing enrichment initiative designed to introduce high school students to the diverse fields of medicine and science. Its mission is to recruit and expose students to health-related careers through practical experience and academic guidance. Participants engage in hands-on workshops covering specialized topics such as cow eye dissection, suturing, CPR, genetics, and neuroscience. Beyond clinical skills, the program provides unique value through its mentorship structure, where students from UT Southwestern’s medical, graduate, and health profession schools serve as mentors. The core activities also include a college fair and networking opportunities to help students navigate the path toward higher education in the sciences.
