About
The SEES High School Summer Intern Program is designed to provide high school students with authentic experiences in aerospace and Earth science research. Its mission is to foster the next generation of scientists and engineers by providing them access to NASA satellite data and professional mentorship. Participants begin with a series of online distance-learning modules covering data analysis and NASA mission objectives before transitioning into specialized research teams. These teams investigate diverse topics such as Martian terrain mapping, Earth’s atmosphere, mosquito-borne disease tracking, and satellite telecommunications. The program’s unique value lies in its direct partnership with NASA, allowing students to contribute to real-world scientific problems while gaining technical skills in Python, GIS, and remote sensing.
