Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program
About
The Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program (ASDRP) is a premier nonprofit research institution dedicated to providing high school students with opportunities to conduct authentic, graduate-level scientific research. Its mission is to increase accessibility to high-tier STEM opportunities, particularly for students from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds. Students work in professional laboratory settings under the guidance of experienced mentors—including PhD scientists and industry professionals—to tackle novel research questions. The core activities involve hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and the development of technical communication skills through the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific symposia. By fostering an environment of "learning by doing," ASDRP aims to cultivate the next generation of scientists and engineers through rigorous, real-world application.
