Alliance for Young Artists & Writers
About
The National Student Poets Program serves as the nation’s highest honor for young poets in grades 10 and 11, aiming to amplify the voices of the next generation of literary leaders. Each year, five students are selected to represent different geographic regions of the United States as youth poetry ambassadors. The mission of the program is to demonstrate the power of young voices to create meaningful social change through the medium of poetry. Core activities include a year of service where the poets conduct community outreach, participate in readings, and lead workshops to engage diverse audiences with the art form. The program is supported by notable partners such as the Academy of American Poets and the Amazon Literary Partnership. By providing these teens with a national platform, the program fosters both their personal artistic growth and their development as community leaders.
