UC Santa Barbara Summer Sessions
About
The UCSB Summer Research Academies (SRA) is a dynamic four-week program that immerses high school students in the world of professional academic research across STEM, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The program’s mission is to provide a challenging environment where students can develop academic and professional skills by working in specific "research tracks" under the guidance of active UCSB researchers. Participants not only conduct hands-on projects but also attend the GRIT talks lecture series, which features ground-breaking research from the university’s top faculty. The experience is designed to foster a sense of university life and allow students to network with a community of equally ambitious and curious peers. The core of the program involves developing a research topic and culminating the experience with a capstone seminar where students present their findings. This unique combination of university-level credits and directed research makes it a premier opportunity for students seeking to distinguish themselves academically.
